Many of us are living in a constant state of high alert without even realizing it. The body stays tense, the mind stays busy, and over time it begins to feel normal.
But beneath that “normal” is often a nervous system stuck in fight or flight, showing up as anxiety, reactivity, and deep physical exhaustion.
When the Body Forgets Safety
I recently worked with a client who felt caught in a cycle of chronic anxiety. It wasn’t just mental. It lived in his body, in the tightness, the restlessness, the inability to fully relax.
Through the Science of Slow and iRest® Polyvagal-informed practices, the focus was not on forcing calm.
It was on helping the body remember safety.
Because true regulation doesn’t come from controlling thoughts. It comes from retraining the nervous system to shift out of survival mode and into a state of rest and digest.
The Shift That Changes Everything: From Fight or Flight to Rest and Restore: The Science of Slow Yoga and Meditation with Jigna Fadia in Toronto
Over time, something profound happened.
He moved from internal panic to a grounded, steady ease. Not by doing more, but by allowing less. Less force, less urgency, less pressure to “fix” himself.
What emerged instead was a return to balance. A state of homeostasis where the body could finally rest.
This is the essence of the work. Not adding more to your system, but creating space for it to reset.

A Different Way Forward
If you feel like you’ve been running on empty, there is another way.
You don’t need to push harder to find calm. You don’t need to fix yourself to feel better.
You need a space where your system can feel safe enough to soften.
